Marty Berman grew up in his family's stair plant in St. Catharines Ontario, learning about millwork at a very young age. He then studied Woodworking Technology at Conestoga College and upon graduating he became a CAD designer for an architectural wood window and door manufacturer.

Janelle Berman grew up on residential construction sites with her dad. She then studied Architectrual Technology at SAIT and upon graduating she became a custom home designer. Janelle enjoys working with each client to ensure their functional needs, aesthetic wants and sustainable wishes are met.

Marty and Janelle Berman worked as site supervisors for a high end custom home builder in the Okanagan before opening Amber Millwork Ltd.
